Claim Form

Important Information

The processing of claims is often delayed because of incomplete information on the claim form. To ensure we can process your claim quickly please read
these guidelines.

If you have any questions please contact Protecsure on 1300 MYCLAIM
or claims@protecsure.com.au.

The claim form must be submitted with a quotation for either repair or replacement with an item of equivalent specifications.

All sections of the claim form must be completed. The claim form must be completed and signed by the insured (e.g. individual or entity noted on the policy certificate), not the repairer.

If the actual date of the damage/theft is not known, then a date range should be supplied to show when it could have occurred.

Please provide as much information as possible.

Accidental Damage - Policy Cover

Accidental Damage means physical damage which occurs as a result of a sudden, unforeseen and unexpected event. It is usually caused by an external,
fortuitous event.

For example, the equipment has...

  • Been dropped
  • Had liquid spilled on it
  • Been stepped on / run over
  • Been knocked off a desk

Please Note: Your policy does not cover electronic/mechanical breakdown, scratching, screen bruising, wear and tear of any part, corrosion or gradual deterioration. Make good" claims at the end of a lease are not covered, unless an actual incident has occurred and it is reported within 14 days as required by
policy conditions.

How to Complete the Claim Form

The stated cause of damage must be as a result of a single identifiable incident. For example: Knocked off desk due to the power cord being tripped over. Likewise, the stated cause of damage should be consistent with the damage sustained and the repairs to be undertaken. If not refer to Protecsure for direction.

If damage is caused by multiple, unconnected events, each event is a separate claim and requires completion of a separate claim form and excess payment.

It is very important that you record on the claim form full details of how the damage occurred, ie not just "dropped". We require full details of the circumstances leading to the claim.

Where the stated cause of damage and/or the damage sustained suggests the repair could be a warranty issue (ie manufacturer fault), this aspect should be pursued before making an insurance claim.
