Weird Claims

 

We deal with over 300 claims a month, so some are bound to be a bit unusual...

 

The schoolboy who was walking along with his laptop when his friends started water bombing him. He ran for cover and smashed the laptop against a doorway, causing extensive damage. We paid this claim.

 

The wedding photographer who put his new Canon EOS camera (with accessories in a bag) on the footpath. Just as he reversed his car the bag toppled off the footpath and he ran over his camera - ouch! We paid this claim.

 

The lady who claimed for a new screen and casing because she vomited over her laptop. The repair centre refused to consider a repair due to the smell. We paid
this claim.

 

The lady whose cat urinated on the keyboard, fusing the motherboard. We paid this claim because it was a single identifiable incident and the cat could not be classified as vermin or feral!

 

A rabbit chewed through a laptop power cord. The rabbit was fried and the laptop short circuited and exploded. We actually denied this one as the rabbit was not a pet - it was a feral rabbit that got into the premises.
